In this study, the shape, makeup and color of butterfly wings were analyzed to determine if any of these factors could lead to innovations and new understanding to solar power uses. the types of butterfly wings were studiedly the Quasi honeycomb (QHS). The Shallow concavities structure (SCS) and Cross-ribbing structure (CRS).
The study found the Quasi structure to be the most efficient it has great light absorption and surface area. This will make harvesting light efficient and it also allows for great dye absorption.
This study will be useful in developing new technology and theories by adopting the honey comb structure.

12# butterfly wings make better solar cells. Response
Really interesting. But I wish that there would be more and new information to write about in my notes. I Really hope to learn more about this subject.
12# butterfly wings make better solar cells. Notes
Butterfly wings can absorb a lot of sun light which warms them up if it gets cold. Putting the dye-sensitized and butterfly wings idea together made it's efficiency to collect light 10 percent more higher than the regular solar cells.

That was really interesting and I can't wait to learn more. I agree with the last part.

# 11 greenlaunches.com Notes
They took the dye-sensitized cells and the butterfly solar scales and put them together and improved it's ability to absorb light. "....All beautiful things needn't be just an eye candy."

Final focus; further research needed
I want to know more about the solar plant that is going in Mohave desert. What will they do with the solar panels? Will they be in rows or stacked up on each other? My final focus is solar panels in the Mohave desert. I always wonder how they where going to protect the solar panels from the desert sand.

10# Solar Energy from Butterfly Wings? Response
This article was really cool. It's kind of surprising that they would use butterfly wings as a way to improve solar cells. No one would expect to find the way to improve solar cells in butterfly wings. I really hope to learn more about this in future articles.
10# Solar energy from Butterfly Wings? Notes
The Japanese and the Chinese are researching better ways for solar cells to collect energy from the sun. They found that the answer may be in butterfly wings. Butterfly wings have their own solar cells. They also discovered dye-sensitized cells. The person who invented the dye-sensitized cells Micheal Gratzel. They did testing on both of them and found out that the solar collecters on the butterfly wings collected more effecintly than the dye sensitized.

#9 California ISO Symposium Sheds New Light on Integrating Solar Power response
I think putting solar energy in the desert is a great idea because the solar cells can collect a lot of energy that way. With a solar energy plant in the Mohave Desert well be closer to having greener planet. It's great that solar energy is becoming more popular and getting different technology.
#9 California ISO Symposium Sheds New Light on Integrating Solar Power notes
Solar energy companies is growing more and more to the point that in no time it will be competing with regular energy. They used what the learned from wind power and re going to use some of it to help with solar energy. "The Mohave Desert is one of the best places in the world for solar thermal energy, "said Senior Director of Transmission Bob Stuart. The desert will be a gvreat place for solar panels because the is a lot of space and light energy. Solar energy vary because of the weather. Like when it's cloudy the energy you get isn't going to very strong.

8# Newest members of solar system: Cars. Response
It's great that they made a solar fan. Hope they make more things that relie on the sun. It would be cool if they made powered trains and airplanes, though that might be a ways away.
8# Newest members of solar system: Cars. Notes
Toyota next generation of Prius has the option of solar powered electric fan. It will be a while before we give up gas stations and run on the power of the sun. "There simply isn't enough area on the roof of the car that faces and receives the sun's rays hitting it," says Bradley Berman.

7# solar promoters push recycling as path to double green response
It's cool how already they are thinking of recycling in solar panels in Europe. I hope America is doing the same thing because it will help the enviorment. It's really good thing to know that we can recycle solar panels now too. I really enjoyed this article and I hope that I will be able to read more articles like this.
7# promoters push recycling as path to double green notes
The solar industry in Europe are recycling pieces of the solar panel as to reduce what goes into the trash. 85 percent of the solar panel is recycled. The companies voluntarily will collect the models since 1990. "We will only be able to say that solar energy has become truly sustainable when the life cycle of photovolt models is closed, allowing industrial use of recycled raw materials necessary to their manufacturing," said Jan Clyncke." That is what we mean by 'Making the photovolt industry Double Green',"said Mr. Clyncke.

Dusty's response
I think this is a wonderful topic for you. While I agree with Mitchell that certain groups of people are making a enviornmentally safe planet almost impossible, I also think that it's an incredible goal. Through my research I've discovered that NASA is developing a hydrogen powered jet engine for use on commercial airlines. That might also be a good topic for you to branch out to if you are interested. Keep up the good work!

Allie's Response
Alexis I thought your blog was very insiteful and had good reasons to solar energy. The only problem that I had is that the article didn't have a title to it. But, that would be easy to fix. Your blog is also very organized and easy to read.

Resasrch response
I think it's awesome that they are making a car that runs on solar energy. I wonder how long it will take to make this car? Because this article didn't say. It's great to know that the company's are using solar energy.
Toyota Motor Corp is a leader in green technology and they are currently working on a car that only uses solar energy to power it. It may take a long time before that happens. Toyota use solar energy to power the place they work. The amount of solar energy they use is enough to power 500 homes and it equals up to 1,500 barrels of oil. It reduces 740 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Resasrch response
L.A. solar power and plan so that it will clearer so that people can understandwhat they are voting for. I think it is a good idea to have solar energy to provide enrergy to the city.
Department of water and Power thinks it can use solar power to help provide energy for L.A. L.A. would be able to avoid running transmissions lines across sensitive ecosystems. L.A. that plan has some questions about plans and especially to how much it will cost. There are fears about how much it will cost and will it cost much higher than anticipated. A reporter called this plan extremly risky.
